Eat & Drink

Breakfast is served in the conservatory each morning. Grand Orient is a Chinese restaurant specialised in Chinese cuisine. The Melbourne Perth invites guests to the rooftop bar to relax with a drink.

“What strikes me most is how seamlessly heritage features blend with contemporary design, particularly in the rooms; details like high ceilings and rain showers enhance the experience. Dining options are plentiful, including a ramen bar by chef Keisuke Takeda, and the rooftop bar offers city views unmatched in Perth. It's a place that feels both steeped in history and thoroughly modern.”

Acceptable Location, Several Missed Marks

convenient locationuncovered parkingsmall room
The location was convenient to nearby attractions.
The hotel parking felt disconnected. It was an uncovered area behind the building. I did not receive assistance with my baggage, and there was no designated area to drop off luggage temporarily before check-in. Paying extra for this uncovered parking seemed excessive, especially given the distance to the entrance. The room felt too small for a hotel of this supposed caliber.

i was quite frustrated with a few aspects of my stay. the promised blackout blinds were inadequate , offering little privacy from the hallway and failing to block out light effectively . additionally , a significant water leak occurred near the window during rain , soaking the carpet and damaging my bag.

Excellent CBD Stay

central locationdiscount voucheruncovered carpark
The location is very central, right at the edge of the cbd. I could easily walk to nearby attractions. Parking was convenient with the hotel's discount voucher for a nearby garage (good value!).
I found the limited uncovered carpark design far from ideal. I had to walk from the carpark behind the hotel back onto the street (it was raining!), only to re-enter the hotel from the front doors.
Facilities

The gym has several machine-type equipment, awesome for varied muscle group training. The hotel offers convenient parking at a nearby garage (i liked that it was discounted) with a voucher provided by the front desk.

My room featured high ceilings. It overlooked the street. The bed and pillows were super comfy, perfect for a good night's sleep after a long day of meetings (very important!).

The bed and pillows were really great, I slept well. The room was very clean. Refilling the water was convenient too. I found this very useful . All the hotel staff are polite and courteous.
The hotel's own car park seems like an unfinished scrap of land. It is behind the hotel. Very odd! I noticed a lack of extras in the room. There was no fluffy dressing gown and no tea or coffee maker. There was a lack of toiletries for two people too. This was annoying.

The location is convenient, close to shops and various dining places. The hotel has a modern feel and is well-kept. Staff members were helpful . My room had plenty of space and a very comfortable bed (the pillows were great too).
The water pressure in the shower was less than ideal for a hotel of this standard.

The front desk staff responded quickly to my requests. I received polite and efficient service from everyone I encountered. The team was very accommodating regarding my requests.
Dining

The hotel restaurant offered a varied menu with options for different tastes. The Grand Orient restaurant on the hotel is fantastic, I recommend it. Breakfast provided multiple choices, including fresh fruit and pastries.
